Have you ever been on the outside of the crowd? Ever not been invited to the party? Imagine the most popular person in school was having a party. You just knew you wouldn't be invited, so you didn't give it much attention. You start hearing the buzz around the school that the "in" crowd is boycotting the party. What in the world? Why would they do that? You would love to go, if only you would get asked. You keep hearing of different people ripping up their invitations, and tossing them in the face of the host of the party! You haven't heard of him doing anything stupid. It just seems that all the people that make sense to be at his party are turning him down. The next thing you know, he's walking down your hallway. The hallway that is out of his way! You know that he never has need to come down this hallway. You open up one of your books and pretend to study. The next thing you know, he's stopped right in front of you. "What's up dude?" you cooly say. "Hey man, I'm having a party, and it would be cool if you can come." he says matter of factly. "Um, sure, yeah, I'll be there."
When you arrive at the party you look around and all of the people that are there are people like you, people not in his crowd. What did you have in common with everyone at this party? You accepted the invitation!
Now go and read Matthew 22:1-14
Love you guys,
Ron Foster
